In which way these activities feedback the work of The Tembembe Afromexican Center Studies?
The Tembembe Afromexican Center Studies is an expert in designing and execution of educational and political projects with an antiracist approach. This visit was helpful to share Tembembe's work and position it as a key actor in the building of local schedules and to strengthen social movements that raise up the commitment of political and cultural recognition of Afrodescendants in Mexico. Our work is not just analysing public policies, nor is excluding other social groups, in fact, one of the strengths of the Center, is that we are able to establish links between antiracism and a lot of social themes.
By this, the “Positive Narratives” workshop provided with a women in rehabilitation social for substance abuse, had as main objective, shared a methodology of afrocentric popular education to advocate trauma and mourning process.
Benefit population:
- 22 women in rehabilitation social for substance abuse
- 1 woman 70 years who is looking for justice
